Fundraising
Mention Fundraising and most people think
“OH NO!.... Not more money????”
or “Boring, Boring!”
With that sentiment in mind, the boosters are trying to make it to be a FUN and ENJOYABLE experience that, wherever possible, we will not be asking parents to dig deep into their pockets.
We all know about the budget cuts and the lack of district funding continues for many arts programs. For our students to be able to go out and still participate in extra curricular performances, festivals, and competitions we have to find a way to fund it. Whether it is marching band, color guard, jazz band, drum line or wind ensemble or symphonic band, the money has to come from some where!
In Oct 2014, we had a very successful benefit concert featuring Grammy Award winner Kenny Loggins. All those that attended had a great evening, including our kids who performed alongside Kenny and his band on the hit song Footloose. We hope to be able to continue this kind of event to raise the much needed money necessary to fund our music/band/color guard program.
Thank you to everyone that has given their assistance over previous years and we look forward to your continued efforts in helping the Boosters support the Golden Valley High School Grizzly Bands and Color Guard for the coming season.
